Travel Guide: Essentials List

This list will help you plan for your trip to ensure you have the essentials you will need for a comfortable experience. Please utilize this list when packing for your ROVE Ultra Expedition.

List Items:

Driver’s License

Passport
Ensure your passport is current and not expired or expiring.

Passport photocopies
If traveling with someone, exchange sets of passport copies and keep them in a safe place–a hidden compartment in your luggage– in the event you lose your passport you will have copies of it available that you can access.

Government Visitation Visas
We will notify you if a Visa is required for a visit to the subject country.

Spare credit/debit cards

Copies of Travel Insurance Documents

Emergency Cash

Keep a few hundred dollars available in an emergency. Consider converting some of it to the local currency. This makes it easier to use if needed which can reduce stress in a challenging situation.

Telephone numbers
– For your banks and credit cards
– For your health insurance provider and primary care physician
– Of your emergency contacts

Flight Itinerary copies

Money belt
To keep extra cash, credit cards, etc, that can be kept under your clothing

Must be transported in luggage

Compact containers for Toiletries
According to the TSA, You are allowed to bring a quart-sized bag of liquids, aerosols, gels, creams and pastes in your carry-on bag and through the checkpoint. These are limited to travel-sized containers that are 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item.

Overnight kit in your carry-on
Consider keeping a basic-essentials kit in your carry-on in the event your luggage gets lost in transit. This may include pajamas, a change of clothing, toothbrush and toothpaste, deodorant and a jacket. Also have on hand a bit of cash in the event your credit cards have issues.

Medicine and Prescriptions
Ensure you have refilled your prescriptions to have enough of what you need for the duration of the trip. Also, bring along the basics for headaches, stomach issues, etc.

Immunizations
Talk to your primary care physician about what immunizations are best for you and your personal health when visiting a foreign country. Make sure your immunizations are current.

A pocket sized book of basic translation of the local language along with your smartphone and Google Translate or a similar App can be very useful.
